It has been exciting to minister in Ukraine. Together with Bishop Vasiliy we visited and distributed food and blankets to many of the needy refugees from the war torn areas of Ukraine. Old and young, young mothers with children, and grandparents – all leaving everything behind, some escaped in their bedroom slippers. You could see the fear and uncertainty in their faces. We prayed for them and encouraged them. More and more people are giving their lives to Christ. They are so grateful for the help you provided.
We visited a 4 story apartment building where 126 refuges (including 43 children) are housed. Each floor has a common kitchen and bathroom at each end. Most of the kitchens were barren with only 1 or 2 small ranges – several of them had burned out ovens and were barely functional. Most had no refrigerator. There were no washing machines. With your help we were able to provide food and blankets and a few washers were installed and a couple of ovens. We are currently looking for used refrigerators to help keep food from spoilage.
We drove out into the Donetsk Region to meet with to Bishop Anatoliy and to bring aid to refugees and pastors who are ministering in the occupied areas. We had a powerful meeting at his church and encouraged people from several churches to keep praying and waging spiritual battle.
I was privileged to minister in various churches in Zaporizhiya, Donetsk and Kiev. They are working hard to reach out to the refugees. I encouraged them and told them that you are praying for them. I also ministered to the youth in Zaporizhiya churches. There was a strong presence of God!
Thank you for what you have done. The needs are still so great. The churches are exhausting their resources and need more outside assistance. Would you pray and consider what the Lord would have you do? Jesus said: If you have done it into the least of these you have done it unto me.
