You ask, what happened in St. Petersburg?
We had great joint church meetings with Russian Churches and the Indonesian Group of 500 Thursday and Friday. What a powerful move of God! The worship was so anointed. As the Indonesians and Russians lifted up the Name of Jesus, many were filled with joy, in others it brought tears. I believe that a spiritual breakthrough has begun.
Pastors were encouraged. Russia has seen an influx of Muslims and Christians stated to believe what they had been hearing and reading, that the nation was being overcome by such. When they heard Pastor Petrus from Indonesia share how they started with 25 people in 1991 and their church grew to 20,000 members in the main church, plus 20,000 more in the 5 daughter churches, in the most populated Muslim in the world, they were greatly encouraged.
When they heard of the Indonesian revival and saw these former Muslims worshiping Jesus with such sincere hearts, they were overwhelmed. Bishop Sergey Linnik and other pastors began to see things differently and said that revival is possible in Russia and are believing for a great revival in this nation.
I had a very busy time in Saint Petersburg, visited several rehab centers on Saturday and was able to encourage recovering addicts and alcoholics. One of the centers will serve as the location for Missionary Bible School that will begin in September.
Sunday was Easter in Russia. We had great services. In the morning I was with Pastor Peter in Pavlovo whom I had not seen in years. He has a ministry to children. They have raised many children as their own. A number of them took part in the service. They currently have 12.
Going to the meeting I passed the beautiful palaces of the Tsars. Several people came to Christ, many were encouraged, a number testified of healing.
In the evening we had an Easter Celebration with Bishop Sergey and Irina Linnik. They rent a church hall downtown. The new church is rapidly growing. Many lives were touched in the meeting. Some of the new believers have many questions and need a lot of teaching and encouragement. It was a joy to share Christ with them and pray for them.
We firmed up plans for additional ministry including a Missionary School to start in September. And, I flew to Siberia via Moscow.
God has been blessing greatly here in Siberia. I am with Bishop Vitaly and Nadezhda Maksijuk. More about this in my next missive.
Thank you for your prayers. Please continue hold us and our family up before the Lord. And, pray for revival in Russia!
